Problem

AssetSense's IoT platform collected 40 million events per day but their customers' ops teams couldn't tell which alerts mattered. Noise ratio was above 90% and MTTA was creeping up across the install base.

Approach

Integrated AssetSense events into ServiceNow Event Management, designed correlation rules against a redesigned CMDB model, and introduced risk-weighted alert scoring. Deployed ITOM Discovery for customer-side infrastructure where BYOC was in play.

Outcome

Meaningful alerts dropped 88%; MTTA halved. Three customer accounts — each previously a churn risk — renewed for multi-year commitments after the rollout reached them.
